Family and Medical Leave of Absence (FMLA)

The Family and Medical Leave of Absence (FMLA) act allows full time employees who have completed one year of service to take unpaid, job-protected leave under FMLA for up to 12 work weeks in any 12 month period. This includes:

  • The birth of a child and/or care for a newborn
  • Placement of a child for adoption or foster care
  • Care for employee's spouse, child or parent with a serious medical condition
  • Employee has a serious medical condition that makes them unable to perform the functions of their job
